More questions
What will I get from the first call?
A 15-minute introduction focused on your next move: starting to save, understanding an account, or preparing for retirement income. We identify the account options or information to explore at a closer review and the steps involved in moving forward. It is not a complete financial plan or a commitment to purchase.
Does the review cost anything?
There is no charge for our reviews or ongoing service, and no obligation to purchase. If you choose an annuity or another insurance product through our office, the issuing insurance company may pay us a commission. Insurance products may have fees, surrender charges, and other restrictions. Product terms and charges are explained before you decide.
Are you part of my pension system or school district?
No. School Retirement Answers is a service of Sandstrom and Associates, an independent insurance agency. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any state pension system or school district.
Can you help if I already have a 403(b) or IRA?
Yes. We compare growth features, costs, access rules, and existing benefits so you can choose the next step with a clear picture. We explain the 403(b) and IRA options available through our office. Any transfer review includes surrender charges and other consequences.
Does anyone at my school or district find out I talked to you?
We do not notify your school or district about an introductory conversation. If you later choose to set up or change a 403(b), the necessary paperwork goes through your district’s plan administrator with your authorization. Our privacy policy explains how we handle information.
What does your office sell?
We offer 403(b) and Roth 403(b) annuity-funded accounts, traditional IRA and Roth IRA annuities, and life insurance. We also assist with establishing eligible SEP IRA and 401(k) plans and offer insurance/annuity products where permitted. Product availability, eligibility, and plan rules apply. We explain our role and the responsibilities of your plan providers before you proceed; we do not provide tax or legal advice. The issuing insurance company may pay us a commission.
What is a 403(b) annuity?
A 403(b) annuity is an insurance contract used to fund an account in a 403(b) retirement plan. The plan sets the tax rules; the contract sets the features, costs, and withdrawal rules. The contract does not add extra tax deferral to an already tax-deferred retirement account.
Can your office help with the next steps?
Yes. If you choose to move forward, our office can help with enrollment, paperwork, beneficiary updates, and coordination with providers and your plan administrator. You can also come back with service questions as your needs change.
Why did I receive an email?
If you received our outreach, your work email may have come from your school or district's public staff directory. Reply "no thanks" or use the unsubscribe link below to ask us to stop.
