Traditional & Roth IRA help

Your IRA.
Clear choices. Personal help.

An IRA is an individual retirement account, separate from the 403(b) offered through your employer. Have one already? I’ll help you understand its growth, costs, and access. Starting one? I’ll guide the account choice, eligible funding, and provider paperwork.

Our office offers fixed and fixed indexed annuities for eligible Traditional and Roth IRAs. The IRA sets the tax rules; the insurance contract sets the product features.

Talk about starting an IRA

First, the account.
Then, how it grows.

An IRA is not an interest rate or an investment by itself. Traditional or Roth describes its tax treatment. The product inside it determines how the money grows, what it costs, and when you can use it.

Traditional IRA
Contributions may be deductible; taxable distributions are generally taxed as income. Deductibility can depend on income and workplace-plan coverage.
Roth IRA
Contributions are not deductible; qualified distributions are tax-free. Contribution eligibility and qualified-distribution rules apply.
The product: growth, costs & access
For the options we offer, we’ll compare fixed rates or index-linked crediting, renewal terms, rider costs, and withdrawal rules. Any change also means reviewing surrender charges, new restrictions, and benefits you would give up.

Contribution limits and individual tax rules apply to both account types. Review your tax questions with a tax professional. IRS: Traditional and Roth IRAs (opens in a new tab).

You may already have the money to get started.

An IRA may receive eligible new contributions, IRA transfers, or rollovers. A new contribution adds savings; a transfer or rollover brings existing retirement money into the account. I’ll help identify the route that fits your source of funds.

If the money is in a former-employer 401(k) or 403(b), we’ll compare keeping that plan with the available destinations. The transaction and its tax treatment are part of that decision.

You choose. I coordinate. For an account placed through our office, I prepare provider paperwork, coordinate eligible funding, and guide the forms that need your approval. I stay available for provider questions and beneficiary updates as your plans change. Future income options depend on contract and payout terms.

Crediting limits apply and a period may earn no interest. Charges and withdrawals can reduce value. Guarantees depend on the issuing insurer’s claims-paying ability, not FDIC insurance.
